The safe alternative used by jewelers is nickel. Search for the one which is made of this component to avoid future frustrations. Tungsten carbide is also inert and it doesn’t react with salty water or sunlight which makes it corrosion-free. In fact the only reason you have to take it off is simply because you want to. Too good to be true? Well, kind of. In all honesty, there is one other reason you’ll have to take it off. Unfortunately the tungsten carbide band is not smudge free. You are probably going to have to clean it every once in a while…with a soft cloth. It doesn’t get any easier than that.
